I often get asked what to do if it rains during the photoshoot. There are a few options, first of all, you can always message me to try to reschedule your appointment for a dry day. But since most of my clients are international tourists who come to Paris for short trips, ofter rescheduling is not possible, so we plan for a romantic session in the rain using a transparent umbrella for photos that I bring to the session.
This particular rainy day Paris photoshoot is one of my favorite family sessions I've ever done. We started at Trocadero with the best view of the Eiffel Tower and we were practically alone there as everyone else seemed to have rescheduled for that morning. We really enjoyed capturing wide angle shots of the plaza.
We then took a walk to a new location - avenue de Camoens to capture a different view of the Eiffel Tower and some classical Parisian architecture. And another short walk away through the steps by Passy we arrived at the final location for the shoot - Pont de Bir-Hakeim, which is the bridge that I usually use to capture the Eiffel tower view in my afternoon sessions, but it's equally as good looking backlit in the sunrise light. On a rainy and overcast day the light here is just perfect all throughout the day for some beautiful portraits. This route is easily doable in 1 hour and doesn't involve taking an uber or a taxi anywhere. So if you are planning your Paris photoshoot and are worried about the weather, ask your photographer what are the options they have for this and don't be afraid to shoot in the rain - the photos may come out so unique!
