This is a beautiful story that started with a dream. When Sarah and Josh first started planning their wedding Josh asked her what was the wedding she dreamed of a small girl and he answered that it was a chateau in a french countryside, something with old European charm in the intimacy of the close circle of family and friends. Then the guys started looking into what what available and checking prices and as it turned out - having a small destination wedding at a french chateau is not that expensive and can actually become a reality! They chose a gorgeous Château de Miserai in Normandy for their wedding and me as their photographer. They booked food from a local restaurant and picked their florals from a florist in town - all local based. We had a Skype call to go over all the details and to meet each other at least in a video call before, so I knew that we "click" really well. Normandy is only a short train ride from Paris, so the transport was easy for this one. The day I spent among their family and friends was truly the highlight of my wedding season that year - so much joy and happiness! And most of them have either never been to Europe or France before, didn't know what foie gras is, or speak a word of French in fact, but they were so full of joy of trying and discovering new things it was impossible not to get excited with them. So if you've ever dreamt of a French countryside wedding but were afraid to plan it or thought that it would be too expensive - drop me a line and I can put you in touch with several excellent local wedding planners who specialize on English-speaking clients. Or I can give you a few pointers how to organize it on your own and maybe even be there to capture your special day for you!
