I am notoriously slow at preparing posts for the blog. This is a story of a spring time sunset surprise proposal, and in the meantime the guys have already gotten married - I'm so happy for them! Anastasia booked this session for their romantic getaway to Paris, and little did she know that Vitali had planned to propose to her during this photoshoot. In my defence, he also didn't let me know about this until it happened, so it was a total surprise not only for Anastasia but also for me :)
We met up 45 minutes before sunset time to make sure we have enough light for our session, and also to catch the Eiffel tower glowing. For sunset sessions like this it's very important to plan to be on time because once the light is gone, the only way to continue shooting in the dark is with a flash. Using a flash creates a completely different look to the images, so I'd recommend to either go for no-flash or only flash for your session to have consistency.
For our first location we chose Bir-Hakeim bridge, which is a great location to capture the view of the Eiffel tower during the day or evening without the crowds of people in way. We then walked to Avenue de Camoens, and from there we made our way to the base of Trocadero plaza to catch some photos with the sakura cherry blossoms which were blooming at the time. We finished our walk by the Seine right opposite to the Eiffel tower as she started to glow and that was the perfect moment Vitali was waiting for to get down on one knee and ask her the most important question. With tears of joy Anastasia said "yes" and I went home with one of my favorite surprise proposal Paris photographer sessions I've done to date!
